Toffee The Japanese Akita Dog: A Life in Pictures

The Beginning:

My name is Toffee the Japanese Akita dog and this is my story. I was born on the 26th of January 2006. When I was nearly four years old I'd already had two homes (and spent a lot of time in kennels) and I was looking for my forever Daddy. I'd always been a good girl but things just hadn't worked out for me yet.1

Then in January 2010 I met my forever Daddy for the first time through the Friends of Akitas Trust.2 We had a walk in the woods together and a run and a play in some tennis courts nearby Leeds Bradford Airport. It was love at first sight and very soon I moved into my new home.

Over the next ten years I had many adventures and many dog-tastic times and this is my story.

So, this is the life of Toffee the Akita dog told with lots of pictures and with even more love.

This is me shortly before I found my forever home. I'm wearing my Friends of Akitas Trust scarf, my paws are muddy and I'm having lots of fun.

1 Toffee had been in the rescue centre twice in her first four years of life and it seems that on the first one of these ocassions she had been found abandoned. I beleive that this is why she really wasn't too keen on being off the lead. In fact, the first time that I unclipped the lead from her collar she kept jumping up at my hand wanting me to put the lead back on her. She must have thought that she'd be left on her own if we weren't attached together by the dog lead.
