Toffee The Akita Dog's Kennel: A Life in Pictures

I got my dog kennel when we helped our friends to move to their new house in Harrogate. I had a great day out that day and we travelled to their new home in their car through the 2012 Olympic Torch procession in North Yorkshire. Little did I know that I'd be getting a new home all of my own too. I got to play in their new garden and paddle in their stream, and there in the grounds we found a lovely big kennel which I was given as a present.

Like many spoilt princesses I didn't really make much use of my biggest and grandest possession. However, I always knew that this was my kennel; especially when Daddy painted it in bright colours for me and put a sign on the front of it with my name on. On hot summer days I did have a few nice snoozes in my kennel over the years and it was pretty much my very own summer palace.

Here I am exploring our friends' garden just before we found my new kennel. Can you see my ears poking out?

When we moved from Leeds to Wallasey on the Wirral we even took my kennel with us. Here I am with my kennel outside our new home.
